After reading this report..
Meteor Blades posted the work of environmentalists and Rep. Raúl Grijalva:
..I made a couple of comments on the sources within the lawsuit. The work floored me, and prompted a couple of comments that I should post a diary on that work

STORY BY KRISTA SCHLYER
The work is stunning. The natural treasures that sustain all life. I didn’t know how to put into words what really fazed me. So I won’t try for accuracy or anything involving the laws and the courts. In fact, for the last week I haven’t been able to come up with anything that didn’t devolve into another pissed off rant that didn’t add a single thing that was useful and solved nothing.
So I won’t. I erased it all and this it what’s left — what’s important
Just that there shouldn't’ even need to be a lawsuit. There shouldn’t even be a question what this wall really represents. The GOP has long made scapegoats to disguise their foul and profiteering agenda. Please take a look at the Embattled Borderlands research. It is work that is invaluable for learning and raising consciousness. And you’ll really really be drawn into the presentation it is so thoroughly and wonderfully put together — the sounds of nature, the pictures, the aerial photography and video presentations. So please do set aside a little time and give yourself a gift of knowledge and inspiration.
That research documents the real price of the Wall.

Here is more information on the impact of a border wall by Chris Clarke July 20, 2016:
This is the real world we must preserve. The world that sustains life. Not some gold plated air-conditioned palace sized cubicle, fake, like Wall Street world.
The moneyed few with purchased political power have forced those they subjugate into building walls before this. Lots of them, going back a long time ago. There is even a science fiction series out called The Colony based around people being walled in. And other tv series walling people out.
But Walls are fucked. They destroy the environment which then kills people, wildlife, and eventually the delicate balance of every living thing in nature
Add to that GOP agenda; the selling off of our National lands to corporate interests; the fossil fuel, Petrochemical/mineral industrialists — a move that will quickly lead to further destruction of pristine wilderness; changes that can’t be undone.

At least two dozen national monuments are at risk of losing their federally protected status as a result of President Trump's executive order asking for an unprecedented review of their designations.
Under the 1906 Antiquities Act, either Congress or the President can protect federal lands by designating them as a national monument. And while Congress has occasionally revoked that status for existing monuments, no president ever has. Trump's order opens the door to that possibility.
Trump is targeting all or part of monuments that make up 100,000 acres or more, and were created by presidential proclamation since 1996. The White House released a list of 24 of them on Wednesday.
