Back in 2009, even though we were excited about Obama’s election, there were still some doubters.
The Daily show, with a Jason Jones segment interviewing anti-Obama folks including an african-american pastor who believed that Obama was the devil AND bisexual.
Bill Moyers had this in 2008:
MAN: Similar to Germany, as Hitler did, he took over the auto industry. Did he not? He took over the banking, did he not? And Hitler had his own personal, secret service police. Acorn is an extension of that.
We were facing a depression and there was no government takeover of any of these industries.
But Trump can berate the auto executives and threaten them (negotiation) and they kow-tow because they have to. Effectively nationalizing the auto industry?
In 2010 Obama mediated a settlement regarding the Deep Water Horizon disaster. The settlement was called a “slush fund” and the mediation a “chicago-style shakedown”.
Last Saturday millions of men and women marched peacefully. A contrast to the wild 2009 summer town-halls.
As Trump goes through his first hundred days, he’s taking credit for job growth which, some like Softbank, was going to happen anyway.
I can’t wait for the infrastructure bill.
