Kansas Secretary of State, and general terrible person Kris Kobach is known for many things, but near the top of the list is his work to stop you from voting and to make racist generalizations about immigrants.
In a column posted to Breitbart, the Secretary of State had an unusual assist:

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach has a new Breitbart column out, and in it he cites a man whom the Southern Poverty Law Center has called a member of the Holocaust denial movement.
Kobach’s article makes the case that immigrants commit a disproportionate share of crimes. He uses a San Francisco murder trial* of an immigrant to launch into an argument that “illegal aliens” comprise a disproportionate share of the U.S. prison population, are behind 53 percent of burglaries in border states, and comprise 75 percent of people on the most wanted lists in L.A., Phoenix and Albuquerque.
His argument has been debunked by numerous studies over multiple years. In fact, studies have found immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than people born in the U.S., The New York Times reported.
That’s right. Kobach literally went there.
Kobach makes an interesting argument in his Breitbart article:

Such crimes are entirely preventable – if our immigration laws were fully enforced and the aliens weren’t in the country, then the crimes never would have happened.
The argument is interesting because conservatives have generally rejected the similar argument:
Such crimes are entirely preventable – if our gun laws were fully enforced and illegal guns weren’t in the country, then the crimes never would have happened.
Kobach’s play toward racist attitudes, though, is used to hammer home a debunked viewpoint. It is also especially appalling considering ramping up this kind of hatred has been especially harmful in Kansas.

“Unfortunately, two associates on our Aviation Systems Engineering team, Srinivas Kuchibhotla and Alok Madasani, were shot. We are devastated to inform you that Srinivas passed away and Alok is currently recovering in the hospital,” Garmin said in the email.
In a public statement, Garmin said, “We’re saddened that two Garmin associates were involved in last night’s incident, and we express our condolences to the family and friends of our co-workers involved. Garmin will have grievance counselors on-site and available for its associates today and tomorrow.”
It is also hard to forget the bombing plot against Somali refugees.
It’s OK though. Kobach is in the mix for Kansas governor. And whipping up hatred and racism are the things he hopes will win him the Republican primary.
