Leigh Corfman, the woman who says that Roy Moore sexually touched her when she was 14, has just hit the nail on the head. He has been calling her a liar, and in a public letter she wrote:
What you did to me when I was 14-years old should be revolting to every person of good morals. But now you are attacking my honesty and integrity. Where does your immorality end?
I demand that you stop calling me a liar and attacking my character. Your smears and false denials, and those of others who repeat and embellish them, are defamatory and damaging to me and my family.
I am telling the truth, and you should have the decency to admit it and apologize.
This deserves to be the center of the case against him. It’s not just that he was a child molester nearly 40 years ago. It’s not just that he was a lawless judge twice removed from the State’s highest court. It’s that his desire for power is reason enough for him to continue to harm innocent people.
Of course, he hasn’t been given his day in court, and in the eyes of the criminal law he is innocent until proven guilty. But in taking a measure of whether a voter should be able, in good conscience, to vote for him, the voter has got to consider not just whether he might have behaved badly long ago. The voter has got to consider whether he still is wrecking other lives for his personal gain.
Can one really believe that eight women, their friends, and people at the Gadsden Mall who recall Moore being “banned” for the way he harassed young women at the Mall are all in some sort of conspiracy to stop him from bringing his “Christian” values to the Senate? Even if one or two of them are making up stories to bring him down, can all of them be doing so? Even the ones who claim they voted for Trump? It beggars the imagination!
But if they aren’t all lying, then he is!
A real Christian would confess his sins and humbly ask forgiveness. A moral monster would destroy anyone who gets in his way.
Moore: he’s not just a former child molester, he is still a moral monster, whose Christianity is just a hypocritical show. Where does his immorality end?
