My friend, Ange Lobue, who is a very accomplished psychiatrist, sent this letter to the Washington Post. I don’t know if they will publish it. Ange wrote this about the President, but I contend that it applies to the entire GOP leadership. These are people who are perfectly comfortable with passing legislation that KILLS PEOPLE. For money.
In any case, I thought the Kos community should see it. I have included Ange’s bio at the end. Read. Share.

DUTY TO WARN
Many American psychiatric patients are diagnosed and treated via tele-psychiatry with far less TV information than is currently available on our American leadership.
Moreover, as clinical psychiatrists, we have a legal duty to warn potential victims of that danger.
Although many psychiatrists have publicly done so, the majority of legal authorities with the power to protect potential victims, has ignored its responsibility to intervene in any way.
In fact, too many congressional representatives have, on the contrary, continued to aid and abet this dangerousness in the service of their political careers through disingenuous linguistics and outright denial of the danger.
While too many in the political establishment still ignore the threat, it is important to remember that the standard for removal already has been met. In fact, some honorable legislators have challenged the enablers by voting to consider beginning the process of removal.
Perhaps some of you have been told by your grandparents about the opportunistic sociopaths who fanned the fascist flames of pseudo-nationalism in early twentieth century Europe.
Many of you were told about the dismissive reactions of laughter at the early behaviors of some European leaders which turned into fanatical ravings that divided the world. You have heard about how many previously stable individuals were swept up in the paranoid hysteria of rabid fear and hate under the intense rhetoric of dangerous, narcissistic, sociopathic, predatory leaders.
In those early years, many friends and families became unable to converse about ideological differences eventually becoming enemies.
What followed became tragic history.
Where once there had been empathy, compassion and trust there developed “superego lacunae,” pockets of immorality and inhumanity, which permitted some individuals to commit atrocities against others considered dangerous simply because of differences in beliefs, skin color, language or mannerisms. Citizens with shared fears and beliefs began to ignore their moral compasses in the service of political persuasions, eventually leading to catastrophic consequences.
Those who have taken a stand against the current, early signs of history repeating itself appear to have sufficient insight to courageously try to protect our vulnerable and divided nation from another dangerous, sociopathic predatory movement and should know that many Americans have noted their bravery and will not forget them.
“We have nothing to fear but fear itself” and the escape from kindness promoted by those disturbed leaders who manipulate the moral compasses of followers for the sake of power.
No amount of power can instantly turn a soul coming from a place of deprivation into one coming from a place of abundance. That condition was established in the early years of life.
What can be done is to control the destructive urges by internal (or external means) until the damage can be reduced through introspection with or without the aid of mood stabilizing and insight enhancing relationships, experiences or when necessary (and chosen by the individual) psychotherapeutic intervention.
In any event, removal from power over others may be an essential first step by wise, deliberate and compassionate family, friends, associates and/or representative authorities.
Thank you to the wise and courageous leaders for their recent efforts to protect this nation from the current threat, and for their devoted service in the face of another destructive world movement.
Sincerely,
