On Saturday February 18, I attended a photography class at The Dancing Cat. It was great, the environment was very friendly and welcoming. We listened to the teacher give us a presentation full of tips on how to take pictures of cats. It was a great experience, and I would most definitely recommend it for anyone in the area. It is located in Downtown San Jose.
The Dancing Cat is a shelter that takes in adult cats and puts them up for adoption. It is a no-kill shelter. The cats there are super friendly, and they live in a very bright and homey environment. I attended this class because, my mom saw it online and decided that I would benefit from it. I want to be a photo journalist. So, we felt that taking this class would help with getting better at something I really enjoy doing, photography.
Anyways, lets get to the good stuff.
During the presentation we learned a lot. One thing I particularly enjoyed was that the cats had free roam at all times. The cats were allowed to walk around during the presentation. The cats would walk up to you and let you pet them while you listened. It was the best way to learn something. I wish we could hang out with cats during school.
In this picture Zeena, a beautiful two year old tortoiseshell, saw a person walking around outside. I took the opportunity to take this picture. I think it looks decent. If I was on the other side of her with my back to the window the lighting would have been slightly better though.

This big handsome boy is JC, he is twelve, like me, and is HUGE. He is like the size of a miniature pony! He is so sweet and relaxed, unlike my little monster of a cat.
JC is a very “regal cat” he is quite old, so if anyone wants an older cat, he is here waiting for you.

JC loves to be petted and seemed to act very confident, almost like he was the leader of a pride. He was so friendly though. I would love to have him here to keep Suki company, but she would need a kitten or a young cat. So unfortunately he wouldn't be the best fit for us or Suki.

Lola seems to love to play with simple toys like a felt carrot or little mice that make noise when she played with it, batting it around in the floor.
She occasionally walked right up to you and rubbed against you expecting to get a rub down right then and there. Other than that, she didn’t even seem to care about people walking around. She was too busy playing with her toys.
Lola overall is just a very sweet, young cat. She is two years old and very, very loving and friendly.

Here are some more photographs I took. I took mostly pictures of Zeena, she seemed to enjoy the attention that she was receiving from me.
