ABC has published another shocking interview with Trump campaign adviser Carter Page
Two years before joining the Trump campaign as a foreign policy adviser, New York business consultant Carter Page was targeted for recruitment as an intelligence source by Russian spies promising favors for business opportunities in Russia, according to a sealed FBI complaint.
Page confirmed to ABC News that he is the individual identified as "Male-1" in a 2015 court document submitted in a case involving the Russian spies.
[...]
spy recruiters were overheard speaking with Buryakov about “the attempted use of Male-1 as an intelligence source for Russia,” the court record says. The recruiter says he “promised Male-1 a lot” and told him he would use his “connections in Russia” to “push contracts” his way.
Page did emphatically deny that he was, or ever had been, an actual spy for the Russians.
As we now know from his interview with Buzzfeed, Page eventually provided the Russians with documents pertaining to the energy industry. FBI documents and statements from the Russians involved seem to indicate the Russian spies ultimately utilized an unwitting Carter Page as a useful idiot by offering him promises of favors in exchange for information. The FBI report noted that they at one point laughed at Page’s ignorance of their connection to the Russian government and Victor Podobnyy is reported saying that Page was “an idiot and forgot who I am”.
