Received this e-mail today from the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (NOTE: Rep. Karen Bass is my representative but if you click the link, you can put in your information to find either your GOP Rep’s next Town Hall or urge your Dem Rep to hold a Town Hall in a neighboring GOP district):
Cowardly House Republicans are still hiding from constituents and refusing to explain their vote to rip healthcare from millions of people to give huge tax breaks to the rich -- so we’re holding them accountable.
We’re flooding vulnerable House Republicans with online ads in their home districts. (Chip in $3 toward running these accountability ads!) Now, we’re ratcheting up the pressure. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports:
“Rep. Mark Pocan [D-WI] spoke to reporters on a call organized by two national groups on the left -- the Progressive Change Campaign Committee and Indivisible -- that are promoting ‘adopt-a-district Town Halls,’ featuring appearances in GOP districts by House Democrats from neighboring districts.”
Last night, Rep. Pocan spoke at a town hall in Paul Ryan's district that Ryan refused to attend. Earlier this week Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) spoke to a crowd of 800 of Republican Martha McSally’s constituents at a town hall in Arizona that she refused to attend. Since these Republicans won't explain their actions to their constituents, heroic Democrats are doing it instead.
As news hits the Internet this weekend about Mark Pocan talking to coward Paul Ryan’s constituents, chip in $3 to flood Ryan’s district with online accountability ads.
We're teaming up with our friends at Indivisible so that across the country when Republican representatives refuse to attend town hall meetings to explain why they took people's healthcare to give tax breaks to the rich -- a Democrat can do the explaining instead.
Sign up here to urge Rep. Karen Bass to speak at an Adopt-A-District town hall in a neighboring district when one has been scheduled.
Then, can you chip in $3 to run online accountability ads in the districts of House Republicans that are vulnerable in 2018?
Thanks for being a bold progressive.
