Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein’s (D. CA) re-election campaign:
Throughout the country, and particularly in California, we are seeing the drastic effects of climate change.
It is clear that globally we must work together to protect our planet for generations to come, but President Trump is threatening to derail our efforts. We must act.
This morning, we woke to breaking news that the president is considering pulling out of the Paris climate agreement. 195 countries have signed this agreement, and the success of the accord depends on our continued commitment to fighting climate change.
That is why I am calling on President Trump to reconsider and continue to honor the Paris climate agreement. Let’s make the voice of the American people heard. We need 10,000 people to sign my petition. Click here to join with me and add your name today.
If we do not work together to curtail climate change, the results will be drastic. We will see millions hurt and displaced by rising sea levels, extreme weather patterns, and water shortages, all of which threaten our security, economy and well being.
The United States should be a leader in these efforts to fight climate change. Instead, the president threatens to isolate us further and jeopardize our efforts to protect our planet before it’s too late.
That is why we must make our voices heard as President Trump considers his final decision on whether or not to follow the Paris climate agreement. Sign my petition today to make your voice heard.
Thank you for standing with me to defend the only planet we have.
Sincerely,
Dianne
