Excitement is building — at least for UniteBlue members — about this evening’s tweetstorm. Our purpose is always to unite the Left, to uplift the voices of progressive groups, to forward the causes of social justice and true democratic governance. Recent twitter storms by Unite Blue have trended for two hours or more and reach 1.2 million users.
Tonight is special because it represents everything we stand for—because we are amplifying the voices of EIGHT partner groups and speaking out for equal rights for all ethnicities, races, and religions, fairness in access to medical care and safe housing, voting rights for all, including immigrant citizens, environmental justice—safe air, water, land for all, an end to private prisons and their abuses, a simple ‘NO’ to Trump’s tax policies that suck money up from those who can least afford it to those already wealthy beyond belief, fighting the deportations of immigrants who’ve done no harm and standing against the strong-arm tactics of ICE…. The list feels endless, but we will NOT let “resistance fatigue” stop us from protesting and indeed from changing the narrative to one of hope and staunch protection of people’s rights.
Some know already, but others may not: UniteBlue was founded by Zach Green and built to a national membership of nearly 100,000 activists. Zach has returned to University studies and passed leadership to Brad A. Schenck, digital community builder and organizer for President Obama. But original activist members continue to carry the same flag we always have: Unify the Left against attempts by the Right to splinter us into factions. At least, that’s my understanding. But read Brad’s backgrounder on the organization for his view as well: medium.com/...https://medium.com/uniteblue/the-story-of-uniteblue-and-relaunch-65e08e043815
State coordinator Maggie says, "I work with UniteBlue because their values and message resonate with those I subscribe to as an active participant in my local Indivisible organization. I'm blown away by the reach, organization, and dedication of UniteBlue and their volunteers and believe that when they partner with other like-minded organizations, positivity and forward-thinking are inevitable."

And by the way? Rumors of our demise are unfounded and should be read as yet more attempts by the GOP to silence our voices.
I am @Lee_in_Iowa on Twitter. Brad A. Schenck is @BradASchenck.
