This should be a no-brainer. California is the tech capital of the country, but we've failed to align our education system to meet this economic opportunity. Can you believe this?
Only a quarter of California's high schools offer computer science. And sadly, that disparity is punctuated by striking gender and racial gaps. That is unacceptable. California is better than this.
Today, I'm calling for Computer Science For All to make sure every California student has access to computer science education. I need to know you’re with me:

Take a look at this breakdown:
We have a lot of work to do to make sure every student in every school has equal access to computer science and the opportunities it opens up. That's why I called on the UC and Cal State schools to recognize computer science as a legitimate math or science class. And it's why I fought for legislation signed last year with the goal of equipping every student with a computer science education.
Computer Science For All is an economic imperative. It’s an equity imperative. Arkansas is well on its way to requiring computer science courses in all high schools. California should be leading the way with them.
If you agree, I need you to add your name right now and join me in supporting Computer Science For All.
I've been at this for a while now, but there's so much work to be done, and we're going to need you. I'll keep you updated on our progress and ways that you can help.
Thanks,
Gavin
