This blue spruce grew for 40 years in the front yard of the house where I have lived now for 15 years. The Arborist said it was sick. We had it cut down. Here’s the stump.
Bucketeers, surely someone has a better story to tell than a very slowly decaying stump. If not, you all will be getting another stump update before you want it.
The Daily Bucket
is a nature refuge.
We amicably discuss animals, weather, climate, soil, plants, waters and such, and note life’s patterns spinning around us.
Phenology is how we take earth’s pulse.
The Bucket is a place to discuss what you see.
Each note, and your comments, adds to our understanding of life’s cycles. Please comment about your own natural area, and include photos if possible. We love photos!
To have the Daily Bucket in your Activity Stream, visit Backyard Science’s profile page and click on Follow, and join to write a Bucket of your observations.
NOW IT’S YOUR TURN
What have you noted in your area or travels? Hopefully you’ve noted more than a stump, except for F’Bob. As usual, please post your observations and general location in your comments. I’m serving a year at hard labor doing landscaping chores but will check back.
