Kudos to US Senator Claire McCaskill for speaking truth to power. Americans, and America, deserve transparency and accountability. The effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA) that would leave 23 million more Americans without coverage is getting more and more unpopular by the day. The more voters learn about the American Health Care Act (AHCA), the more they disapprove. Just three weeks after the narrow passage of the AHCA in the House, the May 25, 2017 Quinnipiac University poll revealed that American voters disapprove by 57–20 percent. Two weeks later, on June 8, 2017, the poll revealed a 62–17 percent disapproval. Even Republican voters’ approval is lack luster at 42-25 percent. No wonder negotiations for the Senate health reform proposal are taking place behind closed doors - racing against a self-imposed June 30th - Independence Day recess deadline. Millions of Americans, living in Republican districts, Democratic districts, and swing vote districts have benefitted from the ACA. Are our US Senators voting for or against the constituents they were elected to represent? What will the June 22nd Quinnipiac poll and the Doctors for America “fly-in” bring? What will Independence Day in the district bring? What will Election Day 2018 bring?"
