Kim Davis is in the news again.
Because she didn't think that men
Ought to get married except with a bride
No license to marry would she provide,
Not even to couples not of the same sex,
A decision that naturally tended to vex
People who wondered why she was paid
To do a job but instead she just prayed.
The problem was solved by removing the name
Of the county clerk so there'd be no shame
In her granting a marriage license to gays.
To God she gave the glory and praise.
But her precious righteousness comes with a price:
The cost of her ticket to paradise
(A place where I'm glad I'll never be,
Not wanting to share it with such as she)
Is someone must pay the attorneys' fees.
Judge Bunning's decision is sure to displease,
For Kentucky taxpayers will now foot the bill
So Kimberly Davis could do the Lord's will.
Yet the Lord, he works in mysterious ways
And whether it's righteousness or crime that pays
The State of Kentucky is on to the scam
That's been perpetrated by Mr. Ken Ham,
Whose Ark is foundering since there's no flood
Of tourists arriving; the thing is a dud.
To cheat the city out of a fee
He made it non-profit, too stupid to see
That meant he'd lose millions in breaks from the state.
He can't change back now; thank God it's too late.
The State will more than make up the loss
Incurred by carrying Davis's cross.
If ruin and bankruptcy are what's in store
For Ham, and his foundering Ark shuts it door,
Along with that other ghastly abode,
The Creation Museum just down the road,
No more will school children be enticed
In touring those sites to give up for Christ
Science and reason, and turn off their brain.
Perhaps enlightenment once more may reign.
