This time it is the New York Times, supposedly one of the more centrist publications.

“In recent times, most presidents have sought to expand the power of their office, and Mr. Trump has continued that trend. Just as Mr. Obama, frustrated by opposition in Congress, made ambitious use of his executive power, only to be reined in at times by the courts, Mr. Trump has turned to his presidential pen to enact sweeping policies.”
“ambitious use of his (Obama’s) executive power”
You Trump licking twats.
President Obama issued 276 Executive Orders in his 8 years.
Let’s see how ambitious that is compared to his predecessors
based on an 8 year scale:
Bush 2 —------- 291 (in 8),
Clinton —------ 308 (in 8),
Bush 1 —------- 332 (extrapolation from 166 in 4 years),
Reagan —------ 381 (in 8),
Carter —-------- 640 (extrapolation from 320 in 4),
Ford —----------- 551 (extrapolation from 169 in 3.25),
Nixon --------—- 651 (extrapolation from 346 in 4.75),
Johnson —------ 504 (extrapolation from 325 in 5.16),
Kennedy ----—- 603 (extrapolation from 214 in 2.83),
Eisenhower —- 484 (in 8)
Truman ------— 934 (extrapolation from 907 in 7.77)
FDRoosevelt — 2305 (extrapolation from 3522 in 12.23)
Hoover —------- 1936 (extrapolation from 968 in 4)
Coolidge -----— 1723 (extrapolation from 1203 in 5.59)
Harding ------— 1730 (extrapolation from 522 in 3.41)
Wilson —-------- 1803 (in 8)
Taft ------------— 1448 (extrapolation from 724 in 4)
TRoosevelt —-- 1158 (extrapolation from 1081 in 7.47)
McKinley —----- 327 (extrapolation from 185 in 4.53)
Cleveland 2 -— 280 (extrapolation from 140 in 4)
Harrison —----- 286 (extrapolation from 143 in 4)
Cleveland 1 -— 226 (extrapolation from 113 in 4)
You have to go back 21 presidents and 125 years to Grover frickin Cleveland to find a president who was LESS ambitious than President Obama when it came to the use of Executive Orders.
Yet this crotch sniffing lap dog (Peter Baker) at the NYT paint President Obama as an ambitious (ie: uppity?) black man who abused the Executive Authority, and therefore Trump isn’t so bad. Maybe Baker is a decent journalist, but that paragraph….
AAAAAARRGGHH.
(I suppose he could have gone the other way and pointed out that Obama was the least ambitious (ie: lazy) black president.
My Christmas wish is that the media does some journalism this year.
(and don’t get me started on the tongue bath that Michael Schmidt (of the NYT) gave Trump last week. So much for centrist)
