When Twitter announced that InfoWars and Alex Jones were banned from the platform, it felt almost too good to be true. Unfortunately, it turns out that we were right. Twitter’s “permanent” ban on the hate-mongering platform isn’t what it should be.
It’s been two months since the official ban, but InfoWars still has a sizable presence on Twitter. From the Daily Beast:
On Tuesday, the Twitter account for InfoWars’ “Real News” show with host David Knight promoted Knight’s claim that Hillary Clinton is “50% Reptilian DNA.”
The Twitter account for the InfoWars store is still operational as well, promoting sales of Jones’s bone broth and iodine supplements. InfoWars’ “News Wars”account is also up and syndicating InfoWars videos. Together, the three accounts have more than 25,000 followers.
It’s expected that Alex Jones would want to circumvent this ban, and it could be difficult for Twitter to proactively stop. However, people on Twitter have said the company has been notified about it numerous times.
What is it with Jack and giving dangerous racists a platform?
