House Speaker Paul Ryan has made his loyalties very clear, and his loyalty isn't to the constitution and rule of law. Now that, with his blessing, the bogus memo from Rep. Devin Nunes—the guy who has made the sole focus of his career helping Donald Trump obstruct justice—has been released, Ryan is in this deep.
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi makes that point crystal clear:
"President Trump has surrendered his constitutional responsibility as Commander-in-Chief by releasing highly classified and distorted intelligence. By not protecting intelligence sources and methods, he just sent his friend Putin a bouquet. […]
"As the Speaker and former Vice Presidential candidate, Speaker Ryan knows how dangerous it is to jeopardize our intelligence and national security. Why is he enabling this recklessness and not taking action to remove Chairman Nunes?"
Ryan has been covering up for Trump for months. He's not just looking the other way, he's not letting the process play out, he's helping Trump.
At this point he's even more responsible than Trump for actively undermining the rule of law, because it's his primary job to be the first check on Trump. Instead, this man who would have been vice president of this country is acting as a loyal henchman to Trump. Who might have already sold the country out to Putin.
