Most of the talk on the tubes has centered around Thomas McInerney’s outrageous suggestion that John McCain’s ordeal in Vietnam actually proved that torture works. But believe it or not, a Trumpkin may have thrown up an even worse smear than that. Namely, black conservative pastor and provocateur Jesse Lee Peterson. He suggested that McCain opposes Gina Haspel because he just has too much anger.
Excuse me? Calling out a prospective CIA director who doesn’t have the guts to condemn waterboarding as immoral, inhumane and un-American isn’t a sign of bitterness. It’s a sign of basic decency.
Then again, as I note at RDTDaily, this isn’t all that surprising coming from Peterson. This is a guy who actually thanked God for slavery.
Charles Payne at least had the decency to apologize for not calling out McInerney sooner. Peterson needs to do the same, if he has anything in him. Let him have it on Facebook and on Twitter.
