Today’s news sure made an otherwise slow Thursday here in the lazy South scintillating.
I’m still confused if Cohen is/was ever Trump’s ‘lawyer.’ Between Trump throwing around the lawyer label, yet unable to tell us what legal services he performed for him — having insisted how very little Cohen ever did in a legal capacity — he is understood to have been Trump’ fixer.
Now, since it’s very well established that there is no such thing as fixer-client privilege, we are safe to assume that anything overheard during the wire tap of Cohen was neither protected by attorney-client nor executive (presidential) privilege?
I include the second relationship condition because there can be no executive privilege invoked when it involves conversation concerning the commission of a crime or of covering one up. Paying Ms Daniels $130K to non-disclose was done under the fixer-client relationship and evidence that has been leaking by slow drip makes the financial part of the arrangement illegal on many levels from campaign election fraud to collusion to influence/manipulate the outcome of an election.
In sum, the distance between a rock and a hard place for The Donald is shrinking perceptibly.
I think it’s time Daily Kos start a betting pool on the date The Donald’s butt is out of the Oval Office. Place your bets in comments below.
