Dear friends on Daily Kos,
This is a one-time post from a new account since my old account of 10 years, BrokenGlass, has been BOJOed but I wanted the opportunity to say "goodbye" to all of the amazing people I've met here over the last decade.
(I know creating a second account is against the rules of the road and I have no intention of using this account beyond posting this diary. It was simply the only way I could say goodbye since I cannot message anyone now.)
As some of you know, I've been an active member since 2008, but I was suddenly BOJOed late last month without any kind of warning, time outs, etc.
I started a support ticket with the help desk to learn what had happened and was told I had been banned due to behavior dating back to the great Primary Wars of 2016. I'm sure a few of you remember those days! (Martin O'Malley supporters sure got out of hand, didn't they?)
When I asked for more information about what exactly I had done and what I could do to rectify the situation to remain an active member of this community, I was told:
We are at this time unwilling to reconsider our decision.
At that point, they removed my ability to access the help desk to reply to the ticket, so I guess I've reached the end of the road on Daily Kos.
That's certainly the nature of a privately owned site on the Internet. Kos and his team don't have to allow anyone here they don't want, but still, I will very much miss all of you I've interacted with over the years.
If you've read this far, I'd just like to remind you that NOW is the time to step-up your support for Democratic candidates running this November. Money donated helps a lot -- and time allocated to knocking on doors helps even more. If you don’t know where to start, please check out Yosef 52’s amazing collection of links and information that he posts once per day.
May we all ride a giant blue tsunami to victory in November, and start the long journey of fixing everything Donald Trump and the bastards on the right have broken!
Peace and Love,
BrokenGlass
P.S. I really do think it would cut down on spam, trolls, and sock puppets if there was a short waiting period for posting a diary when you’re a new user... and maybe a requirement that the new user post some real comments on other diaries first? I know that’s an ironic thing for me to write, given this diary, but it’s just always felt like a good idea to me. Your milage may vary!
