Are you generally a mild-mannered person who, over the past 2 years has started to curse when reading or watching political news?
Do “unpresidented” (and non-presidential) tweets leave you aghast?
Does watching a certain orange hued politician cause your blood pressure to spike?
Are you worried about the fate of the world being in this man’s tiny hands?
Have you lost some faith in humanity as a result of this administration?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may have TDS. Trump Derangement Syndrome most commonly affects intelligent U.S. voters who receive their news from varied sources.
The nearly 66 million Americans who voted against Trump are most are at risk for TDS, compared to the 63 million who voted for him. Those at risk for TDS will quickly see that Trump lost the popular vote by a staggering 3 million votes, further aggravating their condition. Voters less adept at simple subtraction, or discerning fact from fiction, are less susceptible to the affliction, and are likely to be Fox News viewers unaware of the thousands of contradictory statements the administration makes.
If you or someone you love is affected by, or at risk of TDS, take heart: There is a cure!
Vote, help others to register and vote, support progressive candidates, and seek out conversation with intelligent allies.
In as little as a few short weeks, many of the worst symptoms can recede, starting on Nov. 6, 2018. Full remission of TDS may be achieved by Nov. 3, 2020, or sooner if stronger treatment is applied.
