As questions swirl around Trump Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, and how truly awful a person he has possibly always been, the conservative forces in our culture are working relentlessly to discredit Professor Christine B. Ford. Ford has accused Kavanaugh of attempting to sexually assault her back in high school, and Republican officials continue to expose themselves for the sorry misogynists that they are, with right-wing media misinforming the public at every turn. Even our sexual assaulter in chief’s children have gotten into the game of slut-shaming, and of spewing deep-state conspiracy-theory rhetoric that incites their minions to threaten Christine Ford’s life.
A group of over thirty women and a handful of men convened at Ford’s home in Palo Alto in a show of support on Thursday. The Mercury News reports that the supporters chanted “We believe Christine. Her story is our story!”
“I’m here today for all of my friends who are too retraumatized to come, who say ‘I can’t go through this again,”” said Jill Rege, who lives in Palo Alto. “They can barely get out of bed because it puts them right back where they were 25 or 30 years ago. They hid, they shoved it down, but they all remember.”
We believe Christine.
