In this short 60 Minutes clip—Scott Pelley asks Senator Jeff Flake and Senator Chris Coon’s about Brett Kavanaugh’s unhinged performance this week. Pelley specifically asks whether they believe Kavanaugh has the judicial temperament to serve on the Supreme Court.
Flake first thought: "If I were unjustly accused, that's how I would feel, as well.”
Then Flake tiptoes around how Kavanaugh acted at the hearing. He says meekly—his actions with some of the members were a “little too sharp”. Weak sauce.
Senator Coon’s goes on to say Kavanaugh went over the line, he was belligerent, angry and partisan. He mentions the Clinton’s pay me back conspiracy. Coon’s is totally awesome and basically lays out why Kavanaugh is a partisan hack and not qualified to serve on the court.
When revisited, Flake then goes on and says—he didn’t like the Clinton comment, but you have to give Kavanaugh “a little leeway” there. What the hell? Flake is in true form here. He’s basically telling everyone that Kavanaugh’s horrible judicial temperament won’t disqualify him in his eyes.
Again—Flake said, "If I were unjustly accused, that's how I would feel, as well."
Really, Jeff?
So I’ll ask Jeff Flake—If he were unjustly accused, would he have ranted conspiracy theories about the Clinton’s, been belligerent with Senators and said— “What goes around comes around”? Think about it, Jeff— Kavanaugh’s performance revealed his horrible character, his hyper-partisanship and his unfitness for the court.
Flake just doesn’t care about judicial temperament. Period.
Flake will flake out again and vote to confirm. This is who he is and that should never be forgotten, because he has designs to run for President and a yes vote should never be forgotten. The moral corruption is strong here.
So— no surprise. Same old “flake”, different day.
