CBS has announced that it is giving Les Moonves at least 80 million dollars in compensation, and it could reach as high as 100 million dollars. Not sure how much of this is supposed to be in stock. However, CBS said the amount of the compensation depends upon the results of the investigation by the CBS board into the sexual harassment charges against Moonves.
First off, anyone want to bet that the amount of compensation will be ZERO? Maybe times have changed, but my Spidey Sense says, “They will throw some money at Moonves to make him go away.” If the allegations against Moonves are true, he deserves NOTHING. But Moonves is the head of CBS, and we all know that CEO’s are special.
But even if Moonves is innocent — a huge if, I don’t think he deserves a penny.
In a moment of honesty, Moonves admitted that CBS’ wall to wall coverage of Trump was good for CBS:
"It may not be good for America, but it's damn good for CBS," Moonves said at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference in San Francisco, according to The Hollywood Reporter — perfectly distilling what media critics have long suspected was motivating the round-the-clock coverage of Trump's presidential bid.
Moonves helped get Trump into the White House. He deserves no reward for this service to America.
