Following is an excerpt from my book “When They Go Low WE GO HIGH”, which is Volume Three in the Liberty and Justice series.
This excerpt is from the section called “Theory 1. When I raise my frequency, I create expansion despite what They are doing.”
What if you hadn't heard the news about Trump's election? How would you be living your life today?
Would you, perhaps, be less involved in the issues that are actually of interest to you?
GROWING FROM A CRISIS
Seemingly dire situations prod us to react.
Our reactions can become part of a grand strategy for progress, or we can allow fear to take over and let the other side's low vibration wear us down and destroy the health of our nation like a cancer.
A health crisis usually prompts us to finally make those changes we've been avoiding in our diet, exercise regimen, and the amount of water we drink. So that what we first viewed as a disaster often leads us to make better decisions and actually improve the quality of life.
What's the first thing a person does after getting a scary diagnosis? They find out more about it, and they ask medical experts what they can do. They talk to people who have recovered, and find out about different options open to them.
The political action organizations that help us keep track of proposed laws, decrees from the White House, and other important updates do a wonderful job and make it easy to sign petitions and participate no matter how busy our day is.
We find out what we can do, and we do it. That We power is inherent in the Women's March, the March for Science, the Tax Day March, the Climate March, the Gun Control Marches, and all of the other protests going on around the country in support of progress.
Imagine looking back on these perilous times and being glad that you were willing to grow from the crisis of Donald Trump's administration. That you didn't sit by and wait for "someone else" to step up and take care of things.
HOLD FOCUS
Learning to concentrate is one of the important keys to success in life. Otherwise any distraction is like a gaggle of children jumping up and down in a bouncy castle. Imagine trying to sit inside the inflated castle and paint your nails or glue together a model airplane while you are being jounced around. What a mess the results would be.
And yet, with our ill-trained minds that can barely hold attention for a thirty-second TV commercial, we end up with just that kind of mess in all areas of our lives.
Most of us never learned to train ourselves to be able to concentrate for longer than a few moments at a time, if that much. Some people have such an undeveloped concentration factor that they end up being medicated to force them to avoid noticing what is going on around them, which in my opinion defeats the whole point of living.
SHAKE OFF ENERGY THAT FEELS BAD
For me, just seeing Trump's glowering face is enough to make me feel sick inside and out. Why? Because I'm reacting not just to the angry look on his face but to his agenda and his politics of hate and everything he stands for. I'm allowing what is on the outside of me to dictate how the inside of me feels.
Perhaps you recognize that when we react with disgust or dislike, we are actually changing our own vibration. It plummets! If we don't do something to reverse the situation, that lower energy will saturate every cell. And we'll feel worse day by day.
A boon to lifting your mood is to notice all the energy that seems to stick to you and follow you around like a dark shadow.
We pick up vibrations from people around us, and since most of us never learned to be aware of this inadvertent habit, we wander (or stagger, reeling in shock) through life, wondering why we feel sucker-punched for no apparent reason.
Turns out, you may have been hanging out with negative people and their thoughts rubbed off on you, or you are still carrying around messages from critical people that have haunted your thoughts since childhood.
The negative cloud happens all the time to people who are news junkies and absorb all that negativity pouring over the airwaves with one disaster report after another.
DISCERN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CONSTRICTION AND EXPANSION
Intellectually, we can rattle off a definition of what it means to feel constricted and what it means to feel its opposite, expansion.
But how often do we pay attention when our feelings are warning us that our thoughts have become boa constrictors and are squeezing the joy out of us?
Based on all the unhappiness and dissatisfaction that pervades our society, my guess would be that just about everyone learned early on to ignore those warning emotions and keep going, under the assumption that this is what life is all about, and you just have to get used to it.
We learn that it's normal to be stressed all the time, to never get what you really want, to feel bad about yourself. Win some, lose some.
All those constrictive thoughts have been drummed into our little heads until we go on repeating the phrases to ourselves and others and feel baffled when we just can't seem to feel happy about our lives.
With a broader understanding of the laws of thought, we can now see that whatever we speak turns into something we experience.
It might even seem obvious that we'd recognize when we are feeling constriction, but since we've so readily discarded the body/mind connection in favor of treating our emotions with logic (or medication), the gulf between feeling our feelings and understanding what they are telling us can be immense.
RAISE YOUR VIBRATION
When you wake up each morning, what is your typical initial reaction?
If you're not eager to get up and excited to be alive, let's get to work on raising your vibration.
Say the word "JOY" over and over and over again. Use it like a mantra while you shower, get dressed, brush your teeth.
Left foot on the floor: "JOY!" Right foot on the floor: "JOY!" Keep walking, keeping thinking "joy" with each step.
Joy is a word with an incredibly powerful vibration all by itself and it lights us up because we all know what joy feels like, without having to dredge up a definition or try to explain it.
Start paying attention to how you feel throughout the day. A dip in energy is not a sign you need sugar, caffeine, alcohol, nicotine or any other kind of artificial pick-me-up. It's a sign you need to pump up your true energy from within.
Go look in the mirror and tell yourself: LOVE YA, LOVE YA, LOVE YA, LOVE YA! Yes, YOU. I love you, [your name]! I think you're terrific! The world is a better place because YOU are here.
If you feel the message is fake and doesn't make sense because the world doesn't care about you one bit and your life shows it—increase the Mirror Chat to ten times a day.
That "voice" in your head saying that you are not lovable, that you don't have any gifts to share in the world, that you're the farthest thing alive from terrific, is just an old recording passed down generation after generation in our culture, designed to keep us from getting too bold and risking change that could get us killed by people like, well, like the tyrants of history.
But you don't have to use "being safe" as your driving motivator any longer. It's never been a good idea, and in this time of amazing transition to higher levels of thinking, it will only continue to sabotage your dreams for a life that is happy and fulfilling.
WHICH PATH DO YOU TAKE?
At every moment in life there are two paths unfolding before us. One is labeled Fear and the other is labeled Love. In every instant we are choosing the direction we take, however, this choice is generally habitual and unconscious.
Metaphysical teacher and author Florence Scovel Shinn put it this way, "All life is vibration; and when we vibrate to success, happiness and abundance, the things which symbolize these states of consciousness will attach themselves to us."
When we realize we don't want to be on the Fear path, it doesn't take hard work to change, it merely takes awareness and persistence.
This quick command to the Universe does the trick: LIGHT ME UP!
In that instant, universal light will respond to you and energize you.
