...who want to see us spend our money wastefully, go into deeper debt, sow further division among our people, and put us in a state of unnecessary turmoil. The U.S. is currently a superpower, and the inner turmoil caused when the leader of that superpower ignores facts, and pursues an unnecessary, costly, and ineffective solution, rather than researched based, expert recommended solutions, causes chaos to ensue. Our enemies celebrate to see us divided between two factions, one which seeks and embraces truth, and one that ignores the facts and only embraces the fiction that supports the justification for the callow, shallow dreams of a grownup eight year old who runs the White House. An immature, arrogant, ignoramus who has no care for the repercussions of his course of action or how they would affect peoples’ lives. Our enemies know that knowledge is power, and are loving that we have a leader who does not read, research, or seek to educate himself in the truth of the problems the country encounters. Trump, build the wall and continue to do other things not based in truth, and you will continue to have the support of our enemies, for this is the only way they will defeat us and take our place as the superpower of the world.
“Please build the wall, President Trump,” says the people, albeit statistically few, who want to come into the country and harm us, “for a wall has no eyes.” The money spent on concrete and steel is not spent on proper border patrol measures. Aerial reconnaissance (such as drones), electronic defense, listening devices in remote areas, and other 21st century abilities can do a more effective job of security than a concrete slab or piece of metal for a much cheaper cost. These measures can detect aircraft flying over the border, or alert border patrol agents when people are trying to cross illegally.
Drug smugglers are another group in support of the wall; should a wall be built that would leave less or no money to beef up security at the port of entry where, according to Stephanie Ruhl at MSNBC, 90% of the drugs comes into the country. People who smuggle people into the country who do it through packing them into large trucks filled with legitimate goods and would rather not have funding sufficient for technologies to detect their crossings. Our enemies are counting on us not to invest in the 21st century technologies; they want us using 12th century solutions to 21st century invasions because they can beat them. The U.S. must keep investing in antiquated security measures to modern day threats so that criminals, and enemies can always have the more sophisticated methods for beating our security.
The worlds last superpower should have the greatest technological protections, not the least technological.
The real enemy to the wall is not the Democrats who don’t want it, but the technology and psychology that makes the wall an antiquated solution to a modern day problem. Where there is a wall, there are ways to avoid the wall. There are tunnels. There are planes.
The Chinese built a wall to protect themselves from the northern invaders. They either crossed at an unguarded pass, or scared a general into letting them pass.
The Germans built a wall around Berlin that lasted decades due to constant military presence, scrapped an economy, and its fall was widely celebrated.
Walls do not move. They do not adapt. They can be gone around, tunneled under, climbed upon, flown over. At what point do we let Democracy collapse for the sake of a campaign promise that will do more harm than good?
