Short and not complete. I’ve watched the William Barr AG hearing since the git go. This a.m. he sounded sure of his responses, not insane, reasonable, and certainly not fearful of a perjury charge re: his feelings about the Mueller investigation. His major slip in my opinion had to do with his sense of who was a legal asylum seeker. I believe they had to go through a legitimate influx point in his mind. Not true — but also not the most awful of his testimony.
After lunch I’m hearing so far “barriers” “Barriers” “BARRIERS” on the southern border. He was full on with Joni Ernst trying to foist off human trafficking and meth labs involving white folks in her state on just brown people to the south. He’s slipping down the Perv slippery slope by prevaricating on basic questions by Whitehouse and Klobuchar on his extreme positions re: Presidential Crazy Town Immunity and other stuff.
Who did he have lunch with? Why does he sound creepily not confident in front of an entire family of federal prosecutors?
I’m going back to the hearing. Correct me if I am wrong, please. I had a better sense of him this a.m. and responded as such in Mark Sumner’s diary.
