Does it get any more bonkers than this little gem? It’s unbelievable that this is what an Arizona Republican lawmaker is spending valuable time on, while the Trump shutdown economically harms her state.
As reported by the Arizona Mirror, Republican Rep. Gail Griffin, introduced House Bill 2444. This bill would make “distributors” of devices that let you access the internet install software that would block pornography. How would you remove the software? Pay the state of Arizona $20.
While this Republican lawmaker is focused on a porn tax to build that wall, the Trump shutdown is impacting two small businesses in Arizona that depend on federal worker dollars, Spoonz Cafe and Hidden Track Cafe.
"So, you know I hadn't thought about it, but I have noticed business not as busy, and it definitely has impacted," said Denise Bismore, who noticed that less federal workers have been making purchases since the shutdown.
You know these stories of lost business are playing out all around the country now and it’s directly related to the Trump shutdown.
"We are just a small business Downtown, a mom and pop place across the street from the Federal building, so we are feeling the effects of the shutdown and we just hope everybody can get back to work I guess," said Reed Keller of Hidden Track Cafe.
Trump’s own economic council says his shutdown is impacting the economy. The genius in the White House is always spouting off about how great the economy is and now his shutdown is actually harming it.
As reported by the Associated Press, economists in the White House estimate that the economy has taken a half-percent hit already. Another week could result in costs of $6 billion or beyond.
Trump is burning it all down, for his imaginary wall. In this case, a lawmaker is pushing a porn tax for the wall, instead of spending time fighting for constituents. The Republican party’s only priority is Donald Trump.
The GOP has sworn fealty to one man over the well-being of their country.
