We are on the road so, another evening without my Village to make me feel engaged, and to make me laugh. I’ll be with you tonight in spirit.
I hope everyone had some fun this weekend. Maybe you saw a movie, finished a book, visited with friends/family or maybe you did a whole lot of nothing. Whatever it was I hope you were satisfied with how you spent your time.
I thought I’d share a few rants from our latest travels, then you share yours. Fun?
We had a family in the campsite next to us in Idaho that were talking loud and yelling at their kids well after 10pm. It was so frustrating, especially because quiet hours were posted and most campers know how sound travels.
Last night at the hotel the people in the room next to us were also too loud and were playing music. Normally I would turn on the tv so they can see how the sound travels between our rooms but there’s no tv in this room. Grrrr. C’mon people, you know hotel rooms have thin walls and it’s late — keep it down!
We were fortunate to have clean vault toilets at the campgrounds we stayed at on this trip. However, not everyone would remember to shut the toilet lid and/or shut the damn door to the bathroom. Do you want to be in the restroom with flies, mosquitoes or bees? I sure don’t, so shut the damn lid, and the damn door!
This one is frustrating to me whether I’m traveling or not. Please use your blinkers, especially if another car or a walker is waiting to figure out what you’re doing.
Lastly, I’ll add a rave to our campground neighbor who rescued our tent from blowing away during a crazy thunderstorm. We thanked him profusely and told him we’d do the same thing if we ever got the chance. Surprise, surprise we got the chance at our next stop when we rescued our neighbor’s tent. In the process we met a very nice young woman from North Dakota who was traveling throughout the West during her summer break. We shared a bottle of wine and some fun stories with her.
What makes you cranky?
