Last week in my inaugural “Reading Camelot” series post I listed the memoirs of Obama administration staff. This week we raise awareness on another book, focusing on a specific aspect of Obama’s Camelot, John Kerry’s tenure as Secretary of State.
Boston Globe reporter Glen Johnson accepted a position with Secretary Kerry’s communications team, launching a 4 year odyssey alongside the secretary. The result is a well-reviewed memoir of his experience, “Window Seat on the World: My Travels with the Secretary of State”.
This memoir is particularly valuable to help place the larger impact and competence of the Obama administration; it takes us out of the Beltway and away from Obama as central figure and lays out public service on a larger scale.
As always, thanks for reading!
