Several comments in recent diaries have asked which Democrats or which Republicans voted for or against a bill or resolution. Here is a way to find out, if we can’t watch C-SPAN and don’t have inside sources:
The Office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives has a floor summary page updated through the day. It’s mostly a long table with a row for each thing that happens.
Scroll down at your leisure, or search/find the topic of interest. I looked for “Wilbur” on July 17, mostly because I wanted to see the results of the contempt vote for William Barr and Wilbur Ross.
The first instance of “Wilbur” wasn’t helpful, because there was nothing about a vote, or Yeas and Nays, or the like, in the row “Wilbur” appeared, and nothing in the next few rows. But the second instance of “Wilbur” was immediately followed by a row that featured these words:
On agreeing to the resolution Agreed to by the Yeas and Nays: 230 - 198 (Roll no. 489).
The “Roll no. 489” link led to the final results.
Warning: Even when the Yeas and Nays and link are posted, it may be a few minutes before the final results show up at the link.
I haven’t included a way to find out who voted for or against what in the Senate, because it is my understanding they don’t actually vote anymore.
