Rage Yoga?!
Well! When I first read the article about it, I thought that’s sure different!
But it reminded me of a passage in Isak Dinesen’s Out of Africa. At least it was a passage in the movie. I have a copy of the book at home, but, tonight I am not writing from there, so cannot search for it. She described times so difficult as to be almost unbearable, and a step she made to cope, that involved actually making things worse briefly, as if to stretch her capacity. At least, that is how I remember it. Hopefully someone visiting tonight will remember it better than I am.

It struck me because it sounded like doing the diametric opposite of what was intuitive as an element of coping.
With this yoga, the person who developed it seems to have hit upon a similar idea. Of going briefly in the opposite direction of calm with her yoga, because that seemed to work better for her in feeling more peaceful.
Here is description of rage yoga:
Yoga is supposed to be a relaxing, meditative exercise that gets you ready for the rest of the day. But now, you might be able to achieve the same result by doing the opposite. Rage Yoga aims to calm you down and get you fitter by swearing, shouting, and enjoying a beer.
Too, I think it speaks to the importance to ‘letting the toxins out,’ when dealing with anger and frustration.
Will it help you? I have no idea. We are all different. I have not tried it, myself, yet. But that time may come!
I did not see (in a cursory search) that anyone had written about this on Daily Kos. Who knows? Maybe it could help in these stressful times!
On to tonight’s comments!
Brillig's ObDisclaimer: The decision to publish each nomination lies with the evening's Diarist and/or Comment Formatter. My evenings at the helm, I try reeeeallllyy hard to publish everything without regard to content. I really do, even when I disagree personally with any given nomination. "TopCommentness" lies in the eyes of the nominator and of you, the reader - I leave the decision to you. I do not publish self-nominations (ie your own comments) and if I ruled the world, we'd all build community, supporting and uplifting instead of tearing our fellow Kossacks down.

From Otteray Scribe:
In Morning Open Thread today, the conversation drifted around to what kind of October we might have, given the increasing pace of climate change. Officebss chimed in with an observation so spot-on, it must be a Top Comment. (Ed. note: So it is! Recommend you read the entire thread!)

Is this excellent comment by khanenburg about what we REALLY need to do. Agreed. The worst thing we could possibly do is set our sights too low.
