Hello, Minnesota. Welcome to the Twin Cities Kossacks‘ Minnesota Open Thread, a weekly post for all things Minnesotan. Join us to Connect, Unite and Act with other Minnesota Kossacks. Posting most Sundays
OPEN THREAD — SUNDAY MORNING — Jan 12, 2020
So big surprise, the Vikings lost. Oh well, at least Minnesotans will always have that spunky winner: Mary Richards.
All these decades later, the iconic Mary Tyler Moore Show is still a touchstone for many, and not just those from Minnesota.
Oprah Winfrey and company are in the Twin Cities this weekend for her nationwide tour. The StarTribune reports Winfrey and Tina Fey made a pilgrimage to the Mary statue on the Nicollet Mall where they tossed their tams in the air, They also walked the Stone Arch Bridge with the Kwe Pack, a group of indigenous women working to improve community health.
So if you were in charge of Oprah’s downtime on a visit here, where would you take her to experience or celebrate MInnesota?
Here’s the rundown of Minnesota-related posts this past week by Minnesotans or other DKOS writers:
