More than twice as many people have voted early this time around than in 2016. Also, the number of mail-ballots received so far absolutely dwarfs 2016: over 690,000 mail-in ballots so far this time, versus fewer than 200,000 in the entire election cycle in 2016.
One-third of the registered voters in NC have already voted.
