Neera Tanden is the poster child of neoliberalism. As such, she should not have any part in Joe Biden’s economic brain trust. They say the internet doesn’t forget, but it also preserves one’s stated policy positions as well as the associated people involved. Neera Tanden is part of The Peterson Hydra (a Krugmanism) of Fix the Debt fame, as well as The Third Way, Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB), Concord Coalition, Simpson-Bowles, and a multitude of others. He was also prolific in his funding of the Center for American Progress. It’s no wonder Neera Tanden was an active member of the “debt on fire cabal” of 2010 that predicted a looming fiscal crisis coming any day if we didn't pay down Federal Debt! As we can see 10 years later even with Donald Trump in charge there was no fiscal crisis due to Federal debt (and there never has been in the post gold standard history). See for yourself.

It is one thing to be wrong on economic policy (although the CRFB still indulges this debt fetishism which ought to be quite handy to born again republicans), or to admit your past predictions were wrong, but another to double down and belittle those that disagree (since deleted ‘mean tweets’) rather than admit you are wrong. Neera was wrong. People that are unrepentant in their wrongness and still think they are right should be shunned from making any kind of policy. She spends just as much time attacking the left as she does the right. Neoliberalism was a rot in the Democratic party that ate from the inside. It is what drove working people to flee the Democratic party. Joe Biden should not have the neoliberals in his government.
She should not be confirmed, not because republicans dislike her for “mean tweets”, but because of her policy beliefs. Especially in an office that drafts budgets...not now, not ever
