When has Donald Trump ever cared one whit about anybody else in the world ? Never. He has shown himself to be a complete and utter narcissist. Look at his “management” of the novel coronavirus response (and this is only one example). His recorded words show that he knew how serious and deadly the novel coronavirus was early on. He declined to act because he was afraid that if the response was not considered successful, then he would be held accountable for it in the election. This cost lives. He didn’t care. Life to him is only all about him. He declined to act because it started in blue states (Washington, New York, and California) and because they were not his supporters. He thought that blue state governors would get the blame and he didn’t care (same as the wildfires in California). What a monster! He refused to personally call for a stay at home order himself because he thought that this would hurt the economy and that this could hurt his ability to win the election. This cost lives and he didn’t care! He is a narcissist. He minimized the novel coronavirus because he thought that this approach would help give him a better chance to win the election even though he knew it was serious as the Woodward tapes showed. This cost lives and he didn’t care! He held rallies and forced the rally attenders to sit close together because it would look better in pictures even though this would cost lives like Herman Cain’s ! This cost lives and he didn’t care ! He made the RNC largely live and in person even though this would cost lives and mask wearing was discovered. At his speech, he had about 2,000 people sitting close together with masks discouraged even though this would cost lives because he thought that he could trick the American people into thinking the pandemic was not real. He didn’t care ! He held superspreader events like the ACB superspreader event even though this would cost lives because he thought he could con the American people and make them believe that the pandemic was not real ! He didn’t care ! He discouraged mask wearing in his presence even though this would cost lives because he thought that this would improved how people viewed him !

This guy is a complete and utter narcissist. He is also an extreme present hedonist. He doesn’t care about anybody else at all. He never has. All of life consists of individual transactions. What a person has done for him in the past does not matter. All that matters is how he feels that he is being treated at the moment. He turns on anybody and everybody immediately if he feels that the person is not being sufficiently loyal or touting the line he wants promoted.
.
If he really had wanted $2000 stimulus to be in the novel coronavirus relief bill, then he could have and would have pushed for it during the negotiations. The GOP senate has followed Donald Trump’s wishes every step of the way. They almost universally denied or refused to acknowledge that Joe Biden won in a free and fair election until after the electoral college certified its result. This is unprecedented in modern American political history. Despite republican election officials and governors including Brian Kemp, Doug Ducey, Brian Sterling, Brad Raffensperger, Christopher Krebs, and even the president’s personal attorney Bill Barr ( I am NOT going to call him the attorney general because that is clearly not the position Barr “applied” for with his this is how I will defend you letter and that is clearly not how he has acted) giving statements that Joe Biden won Georgia and Arizona and the electoral college in a free and fair election devoid of widespread voter fraud that would alter who won the election.
Despite Comey and Trump-Russia and winning the popular vote by nearly 3 million votes, Hillary Clinton called to concede the election within one minute after the AP called the election for Trump. The Democratic Party did not deny that Trump had won the election or that he was the president-elect despite the above reasons to cast doubt upon the legitimacy of the election. It was not contested in court. This was not like Florida in 2000 either which turned upon 537 votes in one state. Seven Justices of the Supreme Court ruled that there were Equal Protection violations because paper ballots with similar features and characteristics were not being treated the same depending upon which county one was in. Here there are three states, no paper ballot issues, and each of the three states that gave Biden the electoral college were won by over ten thousand votes. No recount of any election in the United States and certainly no recount of any presidential election has ever altered who won a state when the state originally had a ten thousand vote margin or greater. There is no precedent for this in modern American political history. They had no evidence to support the claims by Trump which is why they won one case out of over sixty filed, half with Republican justices and many with Trump appointed judges, and lost even among the Supreme Court 9-0 twice even though Trump appointed three of the justices. Trump appointed judges excoriated the Trump legal team for vague claims with zero evidence and unprecedented remedy requests which would mean essentially disenfranchising the majority of voters in various states.
This can only mean that the evidence doesn’t exist as Chris Christie admitted. That means that these people pushed and backed these claims without evidence of widespread voter fraud which altered who won the election. Doing that (pushing these claims without evidence) is seditious and is an attempt at a coup and is choosing to make the US a dictatorship and backing the would-be dictator. Two thirds of the GOP House members backed a lawsuit which asserted that Texas had the right to tell other states like Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona how they could run their elections (whatever happened to states rights?) in a lawsuit clearly contrary to the US Constitution, a lawsuit lost 9-0 because Texas, they ruled, did not have standing (which no less than Antonin Scalia found important — if you haven’t been injured by an action, then why should you be able to demand relief ? ).
.
I write all of this to demonstrate just how far the republican Congress has gone (remember the GOP senate vote against removing Trump ) in order to protect Trump. He won nearly 75 million votes. Even today, between 70% and 77% of republican voters for Trump believe Trump won the election and that Biden somehow cheated and that if Biden hadn’t cheated, then somehow Trump would have won the election and all of this despite the complete lack of evidence to back such a claim. This shows the pull and the influence that Donald Trump has over republican voters. The republicans in Congress know this and they are afraid that if they cross Donald Trump, then he will attack them and they will lose either their next primary or their next general election. So, the GOP Congress would have done anything that he had asked or told them to.
.
Yet, Donald Trump would not get involved in the novel coronavirus relief negotiations and would not push for a specific amount in direct payments to Americans to be included in that pandemic relief bill.
.
.
.If he was really sincere and wanted this amount of $2000 per person, then he would have pushed for it during the negotiations. He has the leverage of all of his supporters to use to pressure the republicans in Congress into agreeing to this. He certainly could have gotten enough support for their to be more than enough votes in the US Senate to pass this. Instead he waited until a deal was made and legislation passed before he began this purely political posturing. This means that he is completely insincere. Now, it is too late. The only thing Trump can do now is prevent Americans from getting any direct payments (with a veto if Congress did not stay in session to overcome such a veto and clearly there are the numbers in the US Senate to overcome it (92 votes for the legislation) but I am not sure about the US House of Representatives.
.
.All of this shows that this is simply another con by Donald Trump, not a sincere attempt to help the American people.
To further document Donald Trump’s influence over republicans in Congress, consider this new article and recognize that it is December 23 nearly seven weeks after the election and contemplate the court rulings with zero evidence and the republican election officials and governors in their states saying that the Biden won a free and fair election in their states devoid of widespread fraud and that this involves three states all won by at least ten thousand votes. There should not be “an open battle” about whether or not to admit that Biden won a free and fair election devoid of widespread fraud at this point (there never should have been but it is insane to push these conspiracy theories now- there should be near 100% agreement on the fact that Joe Biden won a free and fair election devoid of widespread fraud that would alter who won the election).
Republicans Plunge into Open Battle Over Attempts to Overturn Trump’s Loss to Biden
Republicans plunge into open battle over attempts to overturn Trump’s loss to Biden
The GOP is plunging into open warfare over President-elect Joe Biden’s election victory — with President Trump taunting Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and threatening primary challenges against other Republicans, House lawmakers egging on senators to contest the counting of electoral college votes next month, and senior GOP senators rebuffing that effort as a pointless political exercise
“As our election contest continues, I’ll make you a promise: We’re going to keep fighting until every legal vote is counted,” Vice President Pence said Tuesday at an event in West Palm Beach, Fla. “We’re going to keep fighting until every illegal vote is thrown out. We’re going to win Georgia, we’re going to save America, and we’ll never stop fighting to make America great again. You watch.”
The most extraordinary, if passive-aggressive, attack has come from Trump himself on the Senate majority leader, who congratulated Biden as the president-elect in a floor speech last week and privately warned his ranks not to join the long-shot challenge to the electoral college tabulation on Jan. 6.
And House Republicans are openly challenging senators to endorse their objection to the vote-tabulating process on Jan. 6. Pence, as president of the Senate, is slated to preside over what otherwise would be a pro forma exercise to ratify the electoral college’s Dec. 14 certification of Biden’s win.
The focus on that potential senator has narrowed to Sen.-elect Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), who some senior GOP officials say is being influenced by Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), the person who first raised the prospect of a challenge to the tabulation this month and is seen as a ringleader of the effort.
Other Senate Republicans are also facing pressure from their home-state House counterparts.
.And the GOP members in the US House of Representatives are going forward with their plan on January sixth and it looks like they have a good chance of getting newly elected US Senator from Alabama Tommy Tuberville (who couldn’t even name the three branches of the federal government) to go along with their challenge. That will force a vote in the US Senate. As dangerous as that is and will be, it will be fascinating to see what comes out of that. If the republican US Senators are forced to take a vote, it will be extremely interesting to see the outcome of that vote. A significant number of republican senators including leadership like McConnell and Thune and Cornyn have acknowledged at least that Joe Biden is the president-elect. In addition, Moscow Mitch told the republican caucus to not support this effort. If a vote is forced, then they will be in a real dilemma. If they vote to challenge the electors and support Donald Trump, then they will be disobeying Moscow Mitch and going against numerous statements by leadership and sometimes statements that they themselves have made that Joe Biden is the president-elect. They would also have to know that they would appear to be radical extremists (about 20% to 30% of republican Trump voters believe Biden won fairly, about three fifths of independent voters believe Biden won fairly, and nearly all Democratic Party voters believe Biden won fairly) since they would be opposing over sixty percent of the voters. On the other hand, if they vote to not challenge the electors, then they will raise Trump’s ire and Trump will target them in an upcoming primary or during the general election when they are next up for re-election. Nothing good for them will happen if they do challenge electors.
.
.
.The only reason that Moscow is allowing direct payments at all is because Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are “getting hammered”. Otherwise, neither he nor they would allow any direct payments at all. Both Loeffler and Perdue have used their position in the US Senate to help them make money investing using special information that they have due to their positions, information that Americans not in Congress generally didn’t have. However, they don’t support direct payments. If they did, they could have and would have pushed for them earlier. This is just an attempt to trick voters. This makes it clear why Georgia voters need to elect Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock.

A couple of things should be crystal clear to Georgia voters. First, a lot of people need a lot more in direct payments than the six hundred dollars in the legislation. Huge swaths of people are facing hunger and eviction. If the dishonest Loeffler and Perdue who are only there to benefit themselves remain in office, then Mitch McConnell will remain majority leader and no further direct payments nor relief for state and local governments will pass. The ONLY way that there will be more in direct payments which is essential (1 in 7 residents in this country face food scarcity and hunger issues) is if Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock are voted into office. Any Georgia voter who needs more in direct payments and relief from the novel coronavirus needs to vote for Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock.
