It is true, I keep vacillating. I know my vote is important, and I vote in every election, local, State, national. My favored candidate is Sanders, and I love both Sanders and Warren, while I have been stating my intent to vote for Bloomberg, because I believe Bloomberg can beat Trump.
Tonight, I heard a clip of Sanders stating that oligarchs should not be the ones determining who is President. I agree with him, and I am again swayed by Sanders; but, is Bloomberg of the same status of Oligarchs of countries such as Russia and the Ukraine, or even any other country such as China?
It is sort of like those who call Sanders a “socialist”, such as Castro, or Meduro, or countries such as Cuba, Venezuela, China, Russia, or the former Soviet Union. I don’t think Sanders is like any of these leaders or a leader of any of those communist countries. I have heard and listened to Bernie for years, and oh my goodness, I understand where he is coming from, agree with him on most points, and wish we had a leader who could lead as he suggests; an economy that works for all of us, and does not favor the rich.
On the other hand, tonight, I read that Bloomberg was adopting a policy that I believe Elizabeth Warren introduced. That thought was taxing financial transactions, i.e., stock purchases. If I am wrong that Warren introduced that proposed policy, please tell me.
All of that leads me back to wondering why Warren isn’t polling at the top. She is the one with all of the ideas! She was my favored candidate this primary season, until she collapsed with her vacillation on health care. My personal issue is actually health care. Obamacare isn’t working for me, and I now have insurance that I cannot afford to use with the out-of-pocket and huge deductibles.
Unlike Nevada, South Carolina, and all of the super Tuesday’s states, I have one extra week after Super Tuesday to finally decide. This isn’t like 2016, when I had Sanders and Clinton to pick from, and I picked Sanders. It isn’t like the general election when I had to hold my nose and vote Clinton.
But, there is another aspect to 2020 that I still think is important. I don’t want another 4 years of Trump. I think there are many other people like me, of all parties or non-parties.
Here, at home, there is not one sign I have seen for any candidate, and I mean Trump or any democratic candidate. At the office, my boss, who is an independent, voted for Trump in 2016, isn’t a great fan, but loves the economy, and likes Bloomberg. There is more to that than I wish to discuss. I keep telling him I like Bernie, and he just nods :)
I suppose, at the end of this stream of thought, is that there is not one sign I have for any candidate. I live in an exurban area, which was once a rural area, and an area that is historically “conservative”. We need to decide who is the right candidate, and here I am vacillating again.
