I know on Daiky Kos we often talk about double standards, from socially etc. to how Democrats are talked about by the press compared to how Republicans are never held to the same scrutiny.
But this thread is about taking a break from life (momentarily) and talking about entertainment, specifically: how IMAX always archives less then 20% of screenings of any movie (99% or 100% of the time), and Dolby performs worst then IMAX. Meanwhile 3D both domestic, and especially internationally always archives the majority of the screenings (including CGI movies in the domestic box office since November 2K18), but yet 3D is the one that always has to prove itself, and not IMAX nor Dolby.
Why is that?
How IMAX & Dolby can't play by the same rules and stop having IMAX and Dolby screenings in select countries in the world, and also stop having IMAX & Dolby screenings period for select future movies?
How is it, that 3D screenings can always perform better then IMAX screenings, let alone better then Dolby screenings, and its 3D that's the one that doesn't get to have screenings in select countries in the world for movies like Dolittle and Birds of Prey, but IMAX and especially Dolby can't deliver screenings for jack anything and their screenings for the exact same movie gets included in every country in the world?
In 2017 Power Rangers (2D only) only delivered $140 worldwide including China. In 2019 Hellboy was released in IMAX & Dolby worldwide including China and only made $44 million (also a 2D only movie). Clearly IMAX & Dolby can't sell tickets in any country in the world, and yet they get to continue to exist while 3D is either having its screenings exclude 5 select countries, or the movie isn't in 3D at all.
Hasn't Hollywood already learned their lesson from such 2D only movies as After Earth (IMAX & Dolby) and Ender's Game (IMAX and Dolby), that IMAX & Dolby don't sell movies in neither the domestic box office (and especially the international box office) and that 3D Does?
