San Antonio’s Fiesta will be postponed until November / MySA.com
Due to concerns about the COVID-19 outbreak, San Antonio has postponed its annual Fiesta party until November 5. The postponement comes on the heels of San Antonio’s first confirmed case of coronavirus not connected to the evacuees quarantined at Lackland Air Force Base.

The annual 10-day celebration has only been cancelled before during the two World Wars. It brings in an annual revenue of $350 million to the city. Coupled with the cancellation of the NBA season and the loss of convention business, the 2020 economic outlook for the Alamo City is getting grimmer by the day.
San Antonio and the surrounding cities / counties are also home to a large number of retirees, many of them former military. The virus is a greater danger to the elderly, so the city is being as proactive as possible in containing its spread.
