Our tags pages have been long overdue for a refresh, and finally that day is here!
The new design matches the look of the front page, and creates a much more friendly portal-like destination, showing stories with their lead images and making it more possible to see the community of Daily Kos readers and writers interested in that topic.
The change may appear mostly cosmetic, but in fact this release is the vanguard — or guinea pig, your choice — for a significant collection of changes, porting this functionality to new, modernized infrastructure that will also support new user pages, group pages, and search pages. In some ways, you can think of the tag page as a special case of a canned search. This explains some elements that may feel a bit superfluous here in the navigation.
You should never have to explain a UI… but I’m going to do it anyway. Follow along for the #Science tag...
Not all tags are this complete — not all have images or descriptions, and certainly some are more popular for writing and reading than others. Hopefully these new pages will make it easier and more interesting to browse Daily Kos stories by topic, and to check in on topics that are interesting to you.
