Whenever you hear that the "suburbs of Jacksonville" are in Florida’s 6th congressional district, they are talking about before 2016. There was a gerrymandering court challenge resulting in redistricting effective for the 2016 election. The district used to go all the way up to Ponte Vedra Beach, which is a suburb of Jacksonville, and our then-"representative" and now-governor, Ron DeSantis, lived there. He moved to Palm Coast for his 3rd term to be within the boundaries of the newly configured 6th district, which ends just south of the city limits of St. Augustine and St. Augustine Beach.
Rep. Michael Waltz lives in St. Augustine Beach, which is NOT in his district. There are some areas with St. Augustine and St. Augustine Beach mailing addresses included in the district, but they are unincorporated areas of St. Johns County, not within the city limits.
