Wyoming, The Equality State, granted women the right to vote more than 150 years ago. Since then it has fallen way behind in achieving equality for women. In that light, it seems especially significant that on the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment that both Democratic and Republican Primary winners for our U.S. Senate and U.S. House seats were women. So regardless of who the winners are in November,
Wyoming will send a woman to both the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House this election.
Naturally, our Democratic candidates have better ideas. They are both intelligent, thoughtful women who are determined to represent the people of our state. It is a long-shot, but if our candidates and Wyoming Democratic Party had even one tenth of the resources available to the Republican competitors, we could get more people registered and send these remarkable Democratic women to Congress.

Merav Ben-David , a wildlife ecologist, has studied and witnessed the effects of climate change. She was elected in the Democratic primary as our candidate for US Senate. She was compelled to run for office because she knows that science is being ignored by policy makers and there are so many issues that require critical thinking and problem-solving skills. From her website:
The greatest threat to Wyoming today is our state's economy's heavy reliance on fossil fuels and the extractive technology they require. As the world transitions to alternative energy sources at a rapid pace, Wyoming risks losing more than half of its revenue. Over the past year, as coal mines and oil wells have shut down, entire companies have gone out of business, and thousands of workers have been laid off.
Luckily, there is a solution. We need to expand our economy, and we need to do it in three stages: Rescue, Re-imagine, Rebuild.
Dr. Ben-David (a DailyKos contributor) is challenging former Representative Cynthia Lummis, who has deep pockets and was a reliable yes-woman for the GOP leadership when she served in Congress.

Wyoming’s At-Large US House seat
Lynnette Grey Bull, a Native American (Northern Arapaho/Hunkpapa Lakota) has been a strong voice fighting the epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. On Tuesday 8/18 she was elected to be our Democratic candidate for U.S. House of Representatives (WY-AL). She has a lot of inspiring ideas for progress.
From her website:
For my relatives on the Wind River Indian Reservation, I am promoting a Marshall Plan for Indian Country. The COVID-19 crisis has drawn into stark focus the systemic failure of federal policy and administration in Indian Country, and glaringly exposed what indigenous people have known for generations – that institutionalized racism infects virtually every aspect of what is supposed to be the federal-Indian trust responsibility.
Ms. Grey Bull is challenging none other than Rep. Liz Cheney. The cynical folks among us (including some Republicans) suspect that Ms. Cheney moved back to her Teton County summer home in order to run for office, since it would be much more difficult to win a seat in her home state of Virginia.
