Tom Joseph (a.k.a. @TomJChicago on Twitter) just posted these much-needed words of encouragement on his Patreon page. I won’t reprint it in full here but here is the link to his blog post, titled “How To Stay Positive in Turbulent Times”.

Like all of you, I’ve been stressed out by the headlines and rampant speculation about what *45 and his maladministration may do to screw up the election — be it through “October surprises”, sham “investigations” or other skullduggery (none of which are likely to turn people back to *45, IMO).
Yet, as Tom discusses, none of what we’re going through right now is bound to last. The worst moments of American and world history — be they war, political corruption and illiberal tactics from prior administrations (such as the 1918 Sedition Act, FDR’s internment of Japanese citizens during WWII), or even the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic — were all transitional. So is *45’s presidency.
This part of Tom’s essay says it best, and besides the importance of self-care, the following is something we should all keep in mind regardless of what happens over the next 3 months before the election:
Mahatma Gandhi said it well: “When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it-always.”
We will get through this and restore integrity to our country. The traitors, racists and gullible ones are outnumbered by so many people who are fighting on the side of good. We now know that having the Senate in the pocket of the Executive Branch, with a complicit AG, created this nightmare scenario of justice not being served. Rs can kiss the Senate goodbye. We all have to work hard and vote.
Our country is going to feel a lot different and a lot better when Trump is ejected. Biden is a good person and he has the right temperament to help heal the nation. In the meantime, Trump is unable to do 90% of his empty threats. Don’t be afraid of him. Make him afraid of you. He’s terrified and he deserves it. The dome of secrecy that has protected him is crumbling.
