Even if they claim that the Israel-UAE deal is a step towards peace, (and for this article, let’s even assume it may be for Israel) — what about other Trump factors in a larger context?
- the deal enables the US to sell military arms to the UAE. Suddenly not so peaceful.
-Trump is the guy who sold out the Kurds, getting them forcibly kicked out of their region and enabling Russia, Syria, etc...
-He’s the guy who purposely minimized and politicized the COVID pandemic, so not someone who cares for well being of others.
-He is the guy building up our military, including nuclear arms, Space Force…. how are these steps toward peace?
-And yes, denying Climate Change is no way to promote world peace. Just the opposite.
-Our El Presidente is the guy who disrupts the NATO alliance to enable Russia. No peacenik, there.
-And he reacted to news of Russian bounties on US military, with a big shrug of denial.
-And, oh, he’s the guy who orders his own military/law enforcement to rough up and take down PEACEFUL protesters on our own soil. Who champions Kyle Rittenhouse and White Militias in taking up arms against fellow citizens. (We can also throw in the constant encouragements of domestic violence and chaos. )
-He continues to breakdown democratic norms in favor of suppressive authoritarianism. (That’s a list in itself.)
Gee he sounds more peaceful all the time.
(Feel free to add to the roster; I’m sure I missed some.)
-Historical note: I do recall reading that Adolf H. bragged about promoting world peace when forcing the Czeck-Sudatenland deal with Chamberlain.... shortly before the Fuhrer happened to sort of steamroll across Europe.
Finally: Please don’t tell me that by giving a prize for a “good” deed we encourage more good behavior from such a person. For a sociopath, you only reinforce that he can play both sides of the street and get away with it.
We will have our own Vote on that in November.
