Very few if any of America’s corporations, through their leaders, have come out to forcefully condemn the sham, anti-democracy, anti-Constitution disgrace that is being planned and perpetrated by the Congressional Republican Party. I know, and in many ways understand why, most of these entities give large sums of money to both parties, playing both sides of the fence. These donations go to a broad segment of politicians and related PACs, and include donations to many of those Republican Representatives and Senators who are now seeking to invalidate millions of lawfully cast votes in various States in the Union based on zero evidence or proof of any kind of fraud or other nefarious conduct by voters or elections officials. But the time has come, now more than ever before ( and failure to do so now may be too late) for Corporate America to speak up, and not to simply state that what these seditious confederates are doing is wrong—such a statement must be accompanied by an actual promise of a consequence for these actions, a consequence that will hit them where it will really hurt. And that consequence should be a pledge that our corporate citizens will not donate any money to ANY Republican politician, candidate for office, or PAC/special interest group/charity, including those Republican politicians who do not join in this near treasonous attack on our democracy, for a term of the next two presidential cycles.
The time to speak up is now Corporate America. To do otherwise is complicity, which is worse than the act itself.
