There is nothing admirable about these cabinet resignations, and precious little is admirable about the resigned.
Resigned Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao lost any potential for respect from me when I first became aware of her as little georgie W’s Secretary of Labor two decades ago. She was the only cabinet member to last the whole 8 horrible (at the time, but now relatively not so bad) years of axis war profiteer Prescott Bush’s grandchild’s presidency. She was at least as bad for the American Worker as the union-busting lawyer spawn of Scalia who thus far remains at Chao’s former post.
Resigned Secretary of Education Betsy DeVoss was the first appointee since the creation of the position who neither herself, nor her children ever attended public school, ‘nuff said. The way Trump was going with cabinet picks early on, I was surprised he didn’t tap Ted Kaczynski for Secretary of Homeland Security, and only because Tea Party Messiah Timothy McVeigh was already serving as chair to hell’s republican central committee.
These resignations are little more than the latest act of inexplicable self-sacrificial fidelity to a Benito Mussolini stunt double, the “successful businessman” who somehow managed to bankrupt a casino.
They are cowards who have privatized all they could steal and at the very moment they could do something to actually serve the American people they shit on us. Damn them.
