Trump is facing likely Impeachment in the House, and he is increasingly isolated from his inner core, many who have gone running for the exits, claiming that they “just can’t” sit idly by while Trump tears up the country with his anti-American goons.
But nothing gets to Trump as much as being told that someone else is better than he is. He lets Barack Obama rent space in his head for being more popular with the American people than he ever was, for winning a second term as President when he could not, etc.
Trump’s worst nightmare is already coming true. Joe Biden, who hasn’t even been inaugurated yet, is getting early approval ratings Trump never was able to come close to, not even once.
IPSOS/REUTERS POLL
In today’s Ipsos/Reuters poll Biden’s approval now reaches almost 60%, while Trump’s approval stands at 40%, a stark contrast between the two, the incoming and the outgoing President.
Now, mind you, this poll was taken entirely before the Capitol terrorist attacks, so it is likely that Trump’s numbers are even lower now.
With registered voters Biden’s total approval is 57%, his disapproval is 38%, a positive net of almost 20%.
Trump has never even reached 50% in approval, and that is not different here. The outgoing pResident is at 40% approval with registered voters, at 38% with all adults, and at 58% disapproval. A negative net of 20%. Basically an approval mirror image of where Biden is at the moment.
Trump is a vain narcissist, and for him to see that others are being given higher approval than what he is getting is his worst nightmare, especially with Biden, Obama’s VP and now President.
He incessantly ranted about Dr. Fauci getting high approval and laudations while he himself, “who hired him” is down in the dumps, approval wise. That clearly gets under Trump’s skin, that he is unpopular while people around are popular with the American people.
Trump: “Why don’t I have a high approval rating?...No one likes me. It can only be my personality.”
MARIST POLL — TAKEN AFTER THE CAPITOL TERROR ATTACK
PBS NewsHour/Marist Poll of 875 National Adults, January 7th.
Story: Most Americans blame Trump for Capitol attack but are split on his removal
Nearly two-thirds of Americans place a good deal of the blame on President Donald Trump for the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, but the country is evenly split over whether he should be removed from office before his term ends on Jan. 20, according to the latest PBS NewsHour-Marist poll.
At least five people died as a result of the attack, including a police officer, and 96 percent of Democrats and 62 percent of independents believe Trump deserves a good deal or more of the blame for what happened. But only 30 percent of Republicans agree. Sixty-nine percent of Republicans said Trump deserved little to no blame for the violent actions of some of his supporters.
With registered voters rather than “National Adults” the numbers are similar: 64% state Trump deserves blame for the US Capitol terror attack, 34% say he doesn’t.
Most American’s condemn the US Capitol terror attacks, and that includes a great many Republicans:
Despite the belief among many that the presidential election results were not accurate — the very belief that spurred Trump supporters to gather in the nation’s capital this week — the vast majority of Americans — 88 percent — oppose the actions of those who broke into the U.S. Capitol, according to this latest poll. That includes 96 percent of Democrats, 86 percent of independents and 80 percent of Republicans. However, nearly a fifth of Republicans — 18 percent — were in favor of Trump supporters breaking into the U.S. Capitol, far more than the 3 percent of Democrats and 7 percent of iIndependents who felt the same. Ninety percent of U.S. adults and 100 percent of Democrats say the perpetrators should be prosecuted for the break in.
Whew. “Only” 18% of Republicans think it is just great that the US Capitol was stormed and mayhem and death was left in its wake.
As a result of the events at the US Capitol Trump’s approval rating is now the worst it has ever been in this particular poll, at 58% disapproval and 38% approval.
With just days left in Trump’s presidency, more Americans than at any other point of his tenure — 58 percent — said they disapprove of Trump’s performance, including 51 percent who say they strongly disapprove.
This is Trump’s worst nightmares coming true:
1. Biden starts off with an approval rating in the high 50s, sure to go to 60% by Inauguration day, numbers Trump has never, ever seen (and as we’ve seen from various comments Trump has made over his tenure, his low approval rating really eats at him, gets under his skin.
2. His own approval dropping to his worst numbers over his tenure, 58% disapproval, 38% approval, as he exits, disgraced, beaten down, squashed, thrown off Twitter and Facebook, left in the dust by many of his sycophants who suddenly “can’t even.”
3. Trump gets the lion share of the blame for the US Capitol terror attacks and deaths, by a crushing 30% margin, a sordid legacy that will be with him for the rest of his pathetic existence.
This could not be happening to a more deserving guy.
In the immortal words of the Orange Menace:
We're going to win so much, you’re going to get tired of winning. You’re going to say, 'Please, Mr. President, I have a headache. Please don’t win so much. This is getting terrible.’ And I’m going to say, ‘No, we have to make America great again.’ You’re gonna say, ‘Please.’ I said, ‘Nope, nope. We’re gonna keep winning.’
- Donald Trump
I leave you with this, as the nasty narcissistic murderer exits, not a moment too soon, with the country in shambles and Trump’s electoral opponent growing in popularity to heights Trump never came close to:
