So I called to get a Samsung S1 to replace my son’s current iphone because it does not maintain a bluetooth connection with a critical app that we need to monitor his blood sugar. Over the course of a conversation that has so far taken 2hrs, 25min, & 46sec; I’ve determined that this particular corporate entity is likely consistently screwing their customers by overcharging for the tax which they require to be paid in advance of any payment plan for a new phone.
In my case, $prinT-Mobile stated that I would need to pay $60.00 in for the tax on a new $799.99 Samsung S1. I was initially clued in to this scam because these corrupt clowns tried to pull a fast one by charging extra tax while rounding it off $60 even. That’s absurd.
As I live in Florida, the local sales tax rate is 6% so I should be paying 799.99 X 0.06 = $47.99. The additional $12 I am being charged implies that $prinT-Mobile is charging me an additional 25% on sales taxes. It’s possible that this error could only occur in cases involving this particular phone, however, after being “disconnected” 4 times now, I strongly suspect this is a standard practice of a corrupt company thieving from their customers. Perhaps if we compile information on this type of fraud we can go after them in court. I don’t know. I’m just so sick of being taken advantage of by the megacorps.
PS: Calls to $prinT-Mobile from my phone are now being “disconnected” immediately after exiting the initial call-waiting voice/music loop.
