I thought it might be interesting to present the views of someone outside of the USA — about as far outside as it’s possible to get. I’ll be doing my best to cast a critical eye over the stories here and others in the news regarding American politics and so on, and also giving you an idea as to how the Emerald Isle is looking these days. (Spoiler: it ain’t good).
Feel free to ask any questions you might have about Ireland. I’m not guaranteeing I’ll be able to answer them, but if I can I will. I’ve lived here all my life and have seen some incredible changes, but like you all I worry what is in the wind next. I tend to offset my anxiety, as those who have read my stories will know, by using humour to defuse the situation. My humour may not be for everyone but hopefully it won’t offend anyone.
This is just the introduction; I have no idea how or if I’m going to be able to link these stories and posts, but with any luck someone out there will tell me exactly how much I’m screwing up, and help me out if they can.
As we say here, Slainte agus Slan go feoill (Your health, and till we meet again).
