Dear Compromising Senators,
How thoughtful of you to come together to help the Biden Administration figure out a way to provide economic relief to the citizens of this country and bring some order to the government response to the pandemic.
However, I see no compelling reason why anyone with half a brain or quarter of a moral compass would be willing to compromise with the likes of you.
Over the last four years the ten of you sat back and allowed the fringe in your Republican party to turn it into a red-bandana street gang filled with thugs, insurrectionists, and outright lunatics.
You watched and even cooperated as those ‘colleagues’ enacted laws that brought financial ruin to so many of your constituents, stood by as those insurrectionists gutted protections for our drinking water and the air we breathe. You help those gangsters sell off our national parks and treasures to the highest bidders. You refused to lift a finger to deal with our country’s failing infrastructure.
You voted again and again to kill the single small step this country has taken towards functional healthcare, even with a pandemic raging, never once offering a single idea to replace it.
Beyond a few ‘tut-tuts,’ you said nothing, senators, you did nothing. Through four of the worst years of our Republic the ten of went with your gang’s flow, the insurrectionist flow, the anti-American flow, even when you knew better.
Where were your compromises when the House sent bill after bill to the Senate to deal with the maze of crises plaguing this country only to have Gang Leader McConnell refuse to allow discussion on any of them? Where were you when he derailed every attempt at cooperation, all for his ‘principle’ of not cooperating with those who wear a bandana of the wrong color?
Where was your news-making letter to your gang leader then, senators?
You stood by, did nothing, as a narcissistic sociopath, squeaking into the White House on a loophole, systematically wreaked havoc on our values, ruined the economy, bulldozed the functioning parts of the government, made shady deals with foreign dictators and took grift to levels unseen since the 1890s.
When the sociopath actively hindered the response to the worst health crisis this country has seen in over 100 years, what did you do? 400,000 people died on his watch, Compromising Senators. But it was your watch too. What did you do? You did what you were told to do by your gang. You didn’t lift a finger on your own. You barely bleated a concern. Gang over country, that’s your ‘principle’. Right?
At this moment, mobs of red-bandana Republican thugs are attempting to restrict voting rights in state houses across the country because too many voters in the last election had the audacity not to vote the way your gang told them to.
I’m not seeing any compromise there, senators. Just not seeing it.
Two of your own colleagues, sitting senators, are currently under investigation for insurrection and sedition. Your response? More nothing. Nada. Look the other way, nothing to see here. They’re Republicans, right? They get a pass.
Your gang is so overrun with lunatics that in the new Republican normal, alt-right gangsters carry guns into the Capitol, threaten execution of members they don’t like then scream like toddlers about security searches. They call the pandemic a deep-state hoax and refuse to wear masks. The more colorful members of your cabal seriously assert that Jewish-controlled space lasers are starting forest fires for profit and baby-eating pederasts secretly run the deep state. Your response? Still waiting, senators.
So, enlighten me, gang-of-ten. Why on earth should anyone compromise with you?
Compromise is earned, senators. It is earned by acting in good faith, by working on problems with the intent to solve, not to obstruct them. It is earned by putting country above gang, by pushing aside rigid ideologues.
You offer the new administration the same thing you offer America: nothing. The ten of you are morally bankrupt. You have nothing left to say. Your credibility was destroyed by the company you keep.
Most people in this country still want government to work. Most of us understand that government isn’t an unnecessary evil, it’s a necessary good. A good that helps us through times of pandemics and economic and natural disasters. This is an concept you and the gang of cretins you’ve sold your souls to, seem willfully intent in not understanding.
Compromise with the likes of you? Thanks, but no.
Get your party back, senators. Purge the lunatics, the insurrectionists, the science deniers, the pizzagate worshipers. Fire your Senate gang leader and replace him with someone who thinks working for the country and future generations is the way to do the job, not throwing roadblocks in every direction.
Rediscover facts, ethics, basic truth, Senators. Then we’ll talk compromise.
Meanwhile, the adults currently in control of the country have to drain the boil you allowed to fester to sepsis on your watch. There can be no compromise on that.
Good bye.
